Volunteer surfing instructors offered lessons for children and young adults with autism during the all-day Surfers for Autism event at Pass-A-Grille Beach today.

The surfing festival began in 2007 in Deerfield Beach as a fund-raiser for autism-related charities and since has spread to other beaches.

Kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, live music and games were among activities offered to surfers and their families during the annual event.
