A 17-year-old man is under arrest after shooting a fellow teenager this afternoon, St. Petersburg police said.

About 2 p.m., Dallan Steven Bolden, 6236 13th St. S., and Abraham Jamal Kelty, 17, got into an argument near 59th Avenue South and 31st Street when Bolden pulled a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and shot Kelly four times in the face, arm and torso, police said.

Kelty collapsed near the curb, and Bolden fled south and was followed by witnesses to a house at 6055 30th St. S., police said. Bolden left the home without resistance and the firearm used in the shooting was found lying outside the house. He was later transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center, where he was charged with aggravated battery.

Kelty was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in critical condition and is in surgery, police said. Detectives said Kelty was also in possession of a handgun.

The investigation is still ongoing. Both the victim and suspect have prior felony arrests, police said.
