After jumping up and down fully nude and waking people in a Lutz neighborhood early Saturday morning, a man attacked a responding deputy, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy arrived at 1800 block Tinsmith Circle about 6 a.m. Saturday following calls regarding a naked man jumping up and down, waking people in the neighborhood.
Once the deputy arrived, he found Morris Joseph Reynolds, 25, 11731 Elm St. in San Antonio, naked, the arrest report said. When the deputy approached Reynolds, the man took an aggressive stance and began shouting “vulgarities” at the deputy, the report said. Reynolds also refused commands to back up.
When the deputy went to use his handheld radio to check on backup, Reynolds slapped him on the face with both hands and then wrapped his arms around the deputy’s abdomen.
During the scuffle, the deputy managed to cuff Reynolds’s left wrist, while a second deputy cuffed the right wrist.
Once medically cleared at Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel, Reynolds was taken to the Land O’ Lakes Jail and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence and disorderly conduct.
Reynolds was released Monday after posting a $10,000 bond.
