A Zephyrhills mother was charged with child neglect after a meth lab was found inside her burning home late Saturday morning.
Terri LeAnn Adkins, 30, remains in the Land O’ Lakes jail with a $2,500 bond.
At 11:53 a.m. a deputy arrived at the mobile home, 4552 Ryals Road, in response to a 911 call. Adkins and a neighbor met the deputy and told him there was a fire inside the trailer. When Pasco Fire Rescue arrived, the deputy was told he was no longer needed, but was called back about an hour later after a methamphetamine lab was found inside.
A search of the home, where Adkins lives with her boyfriend and five children, who range in age from 7 to 14, turned up ingredients needed to manufacture methamphetamine, according to the arrest report.
Additionally, deputies found used syringes inside the house.
Numerous track marks were found on Adkins’ arms and she admitted to investigators she used meth for “numbing herself,” according to the arrest report.
Her children, who were at a neighbor’s home during the fire, were taken into protective custody.
