Michelle Williams, an assistant principal at Hudson High, has been named principal of Anclote High School in Holiday.

The Pasco County School Board approved Williams' appointment Tuesday evening.

She succeeds Monica Ilse, who recently was promoted to learning community executive director.

Williams' appointment became effective Wednesday.

Williams' education career in Pasco began in 1986 when she became a substitute teacher, according to the school district. In 1990, she began teaching at Hudson High and later taught at Ridgewood High and Mitchell High.

She became an assistant principal at Mitchell in 2007 and transferred to Hudson High in 2009.

Williams has a bachelor's in mathematics education and a master's in educational leadership from the University of South Florida.
