A Wesley Chapel woman was arrested Monday for repeatedly punching a girl during an argument about a week ago over chores inside the home, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.

Victoria Johnson, 33, 1113 Markston Road, was arrested Monday and charged with child abuse.

During the argument on the night of Jan. 18, Johnson grabbed the girl by the hair and punched her between 10 and 20 times, according to the arrest report. The girl’s age and her relationship to Johnson were not released by the sheriff’s office.

The girl suffered “an agitated” blood vessel in her right eye and swelling to her face. The girl, who was not given medical attention at the time of her injuries, was held out of school for a week to avoid questions about her wounds, deputies said.

Johnson was released from the Land O’ Lakes Jail Monday after posting a $5,000 bond.
