Visiting with Santa

From staff reports

Santa visited the South Holiday Branch Library on Tuesday morning and youngsters climbed on Santa's lap to have their pictures taken and whisper their gift wishes to the old elf. Before Santa's arrival the youngsters were treated to a video of " 'Twas the Night Before Christmas" and afterward they enjoyed holiday cookies and juice provided by the library. Parents and grandparents snapped photos as the youngsters talked with Santa.

Pasco County libraries are hosting various holiday events this week. Today, a teen gingerbread house decorating event will be held at the New River Library, 34043 State Road 54 in Zephyrhills. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Teens can decorate a gingerbread house with candy and then eat the results. The program is for grades 6 through 12 and is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Pasco County libraries will be closed Saturday through Christmas Day, reopening on Dec. 26.
