LAND O’ LAKES — Two pedestrians were in critical condition after they were struck early Friday morning while trying to cross State Road 54, just west of Livingston Road, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Lily Patricia Beahan, 27, of 1350 Magdalene Park, Tampa, and Kyle H. Bellcolfer, 22, of 38 Burke St., Farmingdale, Maine, were both flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa after the 3:30 a.m. accident.

According to a preliminary FHP report, Beahan and Bellcolfer were trying to cross the multi-lane, divided highway when they walked or ran into the path of a 1997 Nissan Sentra that was traveling in the center lane on the westbound side.

The driver of the Sentra, Nicole Lyn Beaulieu, 27, of 2419 Chobee Ct., Land O’ Lakes, was not injured, the report said.
