A trailer became detached from the truck that was hauling it, spilling building materials all over the Suncoast Parkway in Pasco County this evening, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
At 7:34 p.m., a 1999 Dodge pickup driven by Agustin Morales-Ordonez, 28, of Brooksville was hauling a trailer on northbound State Road 589 at Shady Hills Drive when the trailer began to fishtail and became detached.
The patrol said Morales-Ordonez was driving too fast for conditions.
The trailer overturned, spilling roofing shingles, nails and other debris on the roadway, closing part of the roadway.
Morales-Ordonez was charged with having no driver's license, no insurance and careless driving.
The investigation is continuing.
