ZEPHYRHILLS — A 16-year-old boy on a bicycle was struck by a car near Zephyrhills High School on Thursday afternoon and flown to St. Joseph’s Hospital, the Pasco County School District reported.
The extent of the injuries to the boy, a freshman at the school, was not known. The boy’s name was not released.
The accident happened shortly after school dismissed for the day, said Linda Cobbe, a spokeswoman for the district. She said the boy’s parents had been notified and had gone to the hospital, as had an assistant principal from the school.
