A Zephyrhills teenager was arrested Sunday and charged with stealing wedding rings from his mother's jewelry box, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
The mother of the 16-year-old told authorities she was missing two wedding rings from a jewelry box and said they were valued at $5,000.
She said she thought her son did it because he had stolen from her before, deputies said.
When questioned, the teenager told deputies he did take the rings and that he and a friend sold them to a Zephyrhills pawnshop.
He was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center at Land O' Lakes Jail.
