Radio Disney rocks reading program

Published:

ZEPHYRHILLS — Radio Disney paid a visit to Chester Taylor Elementary on Friday as part of an effort to get second-grade students excited about reading.

The Radio Disney Rock and Roll Crew presented a high-energy program called “Reading Rocks” that uses dance and play to show the youngsters how they can exercise their minds as they exercise their bodies.

In one game, the students used letters to spell out the title of the book “The Giving Tree.” In another, they helped write a story by filling in missing words.

The 45-minute program was made possible through local support from the Wesley Chapel Rotary Club.

Radio Disney is a radio network owned by the Walt Disney Co.
