Two New Port Richey teenagers have been arrested and charged with attacking a homeless man, authorities said.

According to a complaint affidavit, the male teenagers are 15 and 16 years old. The man, who was found on the corner of Kentucky Avenue and Congress Street, was covered in feces and insects. He had a broken collarbone and other injuries.

He told New Port Richey police he was lying on a mattress when three young men threw logs, concrete, sticks and urine at him. The man identified the 16-year-old suspect, police said.

The 15-year-old suspect admitted to throwing sticks at the man, but said the 16-year-old threw concrete and urine, the affidavit said. The suspects were charged with aggravated battery.

The man is in critical condition at a local hospital and may die as a result of his injuries, according to a police report.
