A Wesley Chapel nurse was arrested for driving drunk with her two children in the car Friday night, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
About 10 p.m. Friday, Bethany Lynne White, 31, of 32585 Greenwood Loop, Wesley Chapel, was stopped on the side of State Road 54 and Shelly Lane in her 2012 Nissan Sentra with a blown tire when a deputy pulled over to assist her.
A second deputy was called to the scene and noticed White showed several signs of impairment, including the smell of alcohol coming from her, slurred speech as well as bloodshot and watery eyes, the report said.
When asked if she had been drinking, White told the deputy she had two to three glasses of a vodka and cranberry juice mix. The deputy asked twice if White would perform a field sobriety test and she refused each time, the report said.
The children, ages 9 and 13, said they were scared during the drive and that the music was so loud White had to be told by one of the children the tire had blown.
White, who was released from the Land O' Lakes Jail on Saturday, is charged with two counts of child neglect and one count of driving under the influence. Bond was set at $1,500.
