Seniors, walk off those holiday calories

Senior Extra, a program of Pasco Regional Medical Center, will offer seniors an opportunity to work off some of their Thanksgiving dinners at its free weekly breakfast and walking group from 8 to 9 a.m. Monday at the hospital, Medical Plaza I, Classroom 108, 13100 Fort King Road. Bazaar, craft show set for Saturday

The Rainbow Village Carefree Resort Association will hold its annual bazaar and craft show from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at 4150 Lane Road, off State Road 54 W. A rummage sale will include furniture, books and DVDs. There will be a craft show, vendors' tables, a bake sale with holiday treats and a drawing of items donated by local merchants and residents' homemade items. Highlighting the event will be Santa and Mrs. Claus from 10 a.m. to noon. Children who visit Santa receive a candy treat. For information, call Sue Larkham, (860) 822-8556.

Vets can take AARP driving course for free

The AARP Driver Safety Course for people age 50 and older will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at Meadow Point Community Center, 28245 County Line Road. Veterans, their spouses and their children can enroll in this class for free in honor of Veterans Day. The cost for non-veteran AARP members is $12, $14 for nonmembers. Most insurance companies offer discounts for drivers completing the course. Certificates of completion are valid for three years. Registration required, seating limited. Candidates needed for Commission Seat 3

The town of St. Leo is looking to fill Commission Seat 3 as Commissioner Richard Christmas has resigned. Residents who would like to be considered to fill the seat for the remainder of the term (through April 2014) are asked to contact the town clerk.
