Story times featured at branch library
Toddler story-time will begin at 11:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Hugh Embry Branch Library, 14215 Fourth St. Children ages 1 and 2, with a parent or guardian, are welcome to enjoy stories, songs and finger plays. Beginning at noon, preschooler story time will feature stories, songs and crafts for kids 3 to 5 accompanied by a parent or guardian. For information, call the library, (352) 567-3576.
Garden club meeting scheduled for Wednesday
Founders Garden Club of San Antonio will hold its first meeting of the club year Thursday at the home of Ginger Storch, with Beth Tillack as co-host. A coffee fellowship begins at 9 a.m. and a business meeting at 9:30 a.m. Leading the club this year will be Cathy Sprigg, president; Kathy Barco, vice president; Diane Jones, recording secretary; Ann Stephens, corresponding secretary; and Camilla Clancy, treasurer. The club's goals are to care for and beautify San Antonio City Park, sponsor the Christmas in the Park event and have garden-related field trips and guest speakers. A drawing for several Christmas baskets made by members will be the year's main fundraiser. The club meets the first Thursday of each month from September through May. Teenagers welcome to check out Gaming Club
Teenagers can participate in the Gaming Club at 1 p.m. Saturday at New River Branch Library, 34043 State Road 54. There will be board games, RPG games, card games and video games, including Xbox Kinect, Wii and Playstation 2. Friends of the Library will provide refreshments. Alzheimer's support group meeting set for Thursday
