After conducting a nationwide search, the Pasco Education Foundation has hired Tom P. Avramis as its new executive director.
He begins work June 3.
Avramis most recently was president of Levendi & Associates, a private consulting firm for nonprofit organizations. He has more than 22 years of executive level leadership in the nonprofit sector, the foundation said.
Avramis succeeds Chip Wichmanowski, who served as the foundation’s executive director for 15 years and is now president of the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce. The foundation began the search for Wichmanowski’s successor in January.
The foundation, established in 1991, is a nonprofit organization that raises money to provide scholarships for students and district employees. The organization also gives grants to teachers, schools and the district. Members of the foundation board are appointed by the school board.
