A traffic stop in Holiday led to a man’s arrest after he attempted to conceal a half pound of marijuana in his pants, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.
John Torrisi Jr., 34, 7238 Bent Oak Drive, Port Richey, was pulled over by a deputy about 10:15 p.m. Monday near U.S. 19 and Tahitian Gardens Circle.
During the traffic stop, the deputy smelled marijuana inside the car and was told by Torrisi a “bud” of marijuana was in the car, according to the arrest report.
After handing the deputy a cigarette pack with a small amount of marijuana, Torrisi stepped out of the car. The deputy noticed a bulge near Torrisi’s front waistline, which turned out to be a clear plastic bag containing a half pound of marijuana.
Torrisi was charged with possession of marijuana over 20 grams. He was released Tuesday after posting $5,000 bail.
