Music, merriment at Main Street Holidays

Kindergarteners through 5th graders from Genesis Elementary School will present a holiday music variety show as part of Main Street Holidays in New Port Richey's Sims Park at 3 p.m. today. The free performance is open to the public and will feature singing, dancing, hand-bell performances and a play under the direction of Dawn Seguin.

The River Lights Boat Parade will be held at 6:30 p.m. today along the Pithlachascotee River at Sims Park as part of the celebration. The top winner last year was Russell Dennis and the crew aboard "The Smurf Boat."

The Greater New Port Richey Main Street Holidays event will begin at 10 a.m. and includes a variety of vendors, crafts, children's activities, live entertainment and more.

A showing of the movie "Polar Express" will be held at 8:30 p.m. in Sims Park.
