A Dade City man has been arrested after beating his mom with a tree branch and later striking a passing car, according to the Dade City Police Department.
Emanuel Wilson, 27, is charged with aggravated domestic battery, resisting arrest without violence and criminal mischief.
Just before 4 p.m. Tuesday, Wilson was at the home he shares with his mother in the 13000 block of 13th Street in Dade City when the pair began to argue, according to an arrest report.
During the argument, Wilson walked outside of the home, grabbed a branch from the tree and chased his mother into the home, police said. As the mother attempted to close the door, Wilson struck her on the back with the branch, knocking her to the floor.
Wilson left the house and began walking in the roadway when a car passed. He struck the vehicle with the branch, causing minor damage to the passenger side door, police said.
Wilson went back into the house and chased his mother, threatening her with the branch, according to the report. Once officers arrived, Wilson held the branch over his head in a threatening manner, refusing to drop the stick, police said. That prompted officers to use a Taser to subdue him.
Wilson remains in the Land O’ Lakes jail with no bond.
