ZEPHYRHILLS — Florida Hospital Zephyrhills presented the 29th Annual Tree Lighting and Decorating Event on the hospital’s front lawn Sunday. The event featured 53 Christmas trees — one for each of the 50 states, as well as an international tree, a tree for the 12 provinces of Canada and a Support Our Troops tree.
The trees were decorated by members of schools, civic organizations, clubs, businesses and other residents. Entertainers serenaded the decorators while they worked.
About 5 p.m., skydivers from Skydive City in Zephyrhills presented a demonstration with an American flag.
Live entertainment featured a choir from Crossroads Pentecostal Church, the Wesley Chapel Wind Ensemble and performances by Graham Music Studio’s Showstoppers from Dade City.
After the program, Zephyrhills Mayor Danny Burgess announced the countdown for the lighting of the decorated Christmas trees. The tree lighting was followed by a fireworks display.
