An 82-year-old Palm Harbor man was cited in a wreck Sunday that left him, his passenger and a motorcyclist in serious condition.
William Hutwlker was ticketed for an improper turn after pulling into the path of a motorcycle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
At 4:22 p.m., a 2004 Chevy Venture minivan driven by Hutwelker was traveling south on County Road 1 in Palm Harbor, while a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle was headed north on that same road. Both were approaching the intersection of CR 1 and Wexford Drive North, according to troopers.
The Venture turned left onto eastbound Wexler Drive North, cutting off the motorcycle driven by Anthony John Riolo, 22, of Palm Harbor.
The front of the motorcycle struck the passenger side of Venture, causing both to overturn, troopers said.
Riolo was taken to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg in serious condition. Hutwelker and his passenger, Velma Louise McShane, 85, also of Palm Harbor, were taken to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa. Both were in serious condition.
