WESTCHASE — Tampa General Medical Group has opened a Family Care Center in Westchase.
The primary physician at the center, Karl Metzger, will provide primary care and chronic disease management for all age groups, including routine and acute illness examinations, well-woman and well-child check-ups, and school and sports physicals, a Tampa General Hospital spokeswoman said.
Metzger, who is board certified in family medicine, graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine and completed his family practice residency at Morton Plant Mease Health Care and the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine.
The Westchase office, 10718 Countryway Blvd., will be open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Same-day appointments are available. For an appointment, call (813) 844-4800. For information, visit the Tampa General Medical Group web site: www.tgmg.org.
A ceremonial ribbon cutting with the Westchase Chamber of Commerce is planned for Dec. 4.
The Oct. 21 Westchase opening follows the opening earlier this month of the Family Care Center in Sun City Center.
The next Family Care Center is slated to open in Tampa Palms in early January.
