LUTZ -

Randy and Susie Brummitt are the new pastors at The Dwelling Place, an Assembly of God church founded more than a decade ago by Ed Frost.

The husband-and-wife team replaces Frost, who, for medical reasons, recently moved with his family to North Carolina.

The Brummitts most recently oversaw Calvary Christian Center's New Smyrna Beach campus and have been in the ministry for 26 years. They have led churches in Kentucky and Tennessee, and traveled as evangelists to more than 20 countries.

They are not strangers to Hillsborough County, having served Brandon Assembly of God for a decade.

"We are starting to reconnect with the community, increase our children's youth ministry, outreaches to the community," Randy Brummitt said. "There's a lot of opportunity for growth."

"One thing I think is very positive about the church, is I can't see they could have better leveraged use of the building," he said. "We are very much desirous to have the facility we own utilized, not sitting dormant 90 percent of the time."

Vida Community Church conducts Spanish-language services there at 2 p.m. Sunday, and the building is open to community use.

The church, which has about 100 members, is at 410 County Line Road, on the Hillsborough side.

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Sundays, with 7 p.m. Wednesday Bible study and youth ministry. The church telephone is (813) 949-1912.
