Renowned organist Adam Brakel will appear in concert at St. Clement’s Episcopal Church Sunday, Feb. 16 at 3 p.m. He will perform a diverse program, which will demonstrate the full potential of the church’s Casavant pipe organ.
The recipient of numerous national and international awards, Brakel has won critical acclaim from St. Paul’s Cathedral in London to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York to Grace Cathedral in San Francisco.
Brakel will play a variety of pieces, including the Bach Dorian D Minor Toccata, the Gigout Scherzo, Widor Pontifical March, and Dick Hyman’s amazing variations on Shenandoah.
The 860-pipe organ, manufactured in Canada by Casavant Frères, was installed in St. Clement’s in 1979.
A donation of $20 is suggested to benefit the church capital fund. A reception will follow the concert where members of the audience will be able to meet Brakel.
