Liberty Middle track team reaches county championships

Liberty Middle School’s track team achieved new heights in December when 17 of its athletes made it to the county championships.

Liberty had three 4-by-100 meter relay teams make it to the championships, with four runners each taking a turn running 100 meters.

Girls sixth grade: Reannah Ashby, Kiana Morris, Karli Del Giudice, Yuliana Vargas.

Girls seventh/eighth grade: Camryn Herr, Charisma Henry, Leilanni Bell, Navarra James.

Boys seventh/eighth grade: James Daley, Christopher Miklwazeki, Niran Akande, Antwon Townsend.

Many students also qualified in individual events: Alejandro Michel, 800 meter run; Bethany Green, 800 meter run; Christopher Miklwazeki, 400 meter run; Reannah Ashby, long jump, 100 meter dash; Charisma Henry, shotput; Leigha Newman, shotput; Camden Minacci, long jump; and Chloe Potts, 200 meter run.

The following students made it to the finals, which placed them in the top nine out of 44 schools in Hillsborough County: Reannah Ashby, 100 meter dash; Camden Minacci, long jump; and Alejandro Michel, 800 meter run.
