Two suspects are being sought after a hotel robbery Sunday night near the Florida State Fairgrounds, deputies said.
At 10:46 p.m., two men entered the La Quinta Inn at 4811 U.S. 301 N. armed with a shotgun, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said. A suspect wearing a long-sleeve white sweater jumped the counter and demanded money from the clerk, deputies said. He then removed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register.
The second suspect wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black bandana over his face stood at the counter with the shotgun pointed at the clerk, deputies said.
The suspects are black males, 20 to 30 years of age, 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-2, about 180 pounds, with a thin build, according to the sheriff's office.
The first suspect had a black shirt covering his face, used white socks for gloves, and was wearing a white long-sleeve sweater, black shorts, black socks and black shoes, deputies said. The second suspect wore a black bandana over his face, black hooded sweatshirt with white writing and black shorts.
Both suspects then fled in an unknown direction by unknown means, deputies said.
