Seffner woman critically injured in multi-car crash

Published:

A Seffner woman sustained life-threatening injuries in a multi-car crash in Riverview on Wednesday night.

Hillsborough County deputies say 47-year-old Sonya A. Reigelsperger was driving a 2012 Ford Mustang westbound on Big Bend Road when she was struck by a GMC pickup truck, driven by 40-year-old Randall Wayne Hanks, who was attempting to turn northbound on Lincoln Road.

After Reigelsperger spun out of the way, Hanks, of Gibsonton, struck a 2014 Toyota Corolla driven by 33-year-old Kevin P. Burnham, of Apollo Beach.

Reigelsperger is hospitalized in critical condition at Tampa General Hospital, deputies say.

Neither Hanks, Burnham or their passengers were injured, deputies say.

Deputies continue to investigate the cause and contributing factors of the crash.
