The Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in locating a car that killed a man in the Wimauma area last week.
About 1:41 a.m. April 15, a car northbound on U.S. 301 struck Anthony James Griffin, 24, of Apollo Beach, while he was lying in the road just south of Stanford Road. He died at the scene.
The car did not stop, but parts of the vehicle found at the scene are from a white Chrysler PT cruiser from the model years 2006 2009, FHP said. The car would have damage to the lower front bumper cover and would be missing part of one of the inner wheel liners.
Anyone with information in the case is asked to contact FHP at (813) 631-4020 or Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay at (800) 873-8477.
