Traffic is being rerouted around a cave in over a wastewater mainline at the intersection of Himes Avenue and Cypress Street in Tampa.

The northbound Himes turn lane onto Cypress Street at the intersection is closed and traffic is being merged into the easternmost lane. Also on Himes, the southbound middle lane is closed and traffic is being merged into the westernmost outside lane.

Barricades and signs on site to direct traffic around the closed lanes and work area.

The city said the repair is scheduled to be done May 16, unless there are unexpected circumstances or bad weather.

Technicians with the Department of Public Works are determining the cause of the depression.
