Three teens injured in Pasco collision

Three teenagers were seriously injured a collision in Pasco County this morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

About 11:55 a.m., Kyle Hunnewell, 17, of Lutz was traveling east on State Road 54 in a 2008 Honda, FHP said. Meanwhile, William Ase, 49, of New Port Richey was driving a Freightliner van, a Pasco County School Board vehicle, west on the same road.

The Honda turned left onto Sunlake Boulevard under a red turn arrow and into the path of the van, and the vehicles collided, FHP said.

Hunnewell and passenger Shawn Bosley, 17, of Land O’ Lakes, were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in critical condition, FHP said. Another passenger, Emilio Batista, 17, of Land O’ Lakes, was taken to Tampa General Hospital with serious injuries.

Ase received minor injuries but did not go to the hospital, FHP said.
