SARASOTA -

Authorities in Sarasota County said they are investigating a crash caused by a driver who ran a red light, injuring three adults and two children.

The crash occurred at Fruitville Road and Lime Avenue just after noon Saturday.

Authorities said the victims were taken to a hospital and appeared to be in stable condition.

Emergency personnel had to cut the driver out of the car by removing the top and driver's side doors.
