Tampa police investigators are searching for the driver of a pickup truck responsible for a hit-and-run crash early this morning that left a driver and passenger in critical condition.

In a surveillance video, a light-colored pickup truck heading east is seen rear-ending a Jeep Cherokee at around 5 a.m. in the 3200 block of West Hillsborough Ave.

The driver of the Jeep lost control and struck a building. The driver, Loedanis Curbelo-Izquierdo, 19, and his passenger, Zaraida Yuda, 18, both of Tampa, are in critical condition at St. Joseph's Hospital, police said.

The driver of the pickup fled the scene after crashing into the Jeep. The truck has a black bug deflector that was broken in the crash. The pickup may have cracks on the front right headlight. The truck may also have blue paint from the Jeep, police said.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information can contact police at (813) 231-6130.
