Skeletal remains found in a burned car this past weekend were identified as those of Gwendolyn Patricia Belcher, a missing Mango woman, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
Belcher, 33, of 3913 Pine St., was reported missing after fighting with her husband over the weekend and was the owner of the burned 2000 Nissan Maxima where her remains were found in Thonotosassa, deputies said.
Her identity was determined through dental records, but the cause of death is pending, the sheriff's office said.
Belcher's car was found by investigators Sunday at Taylor and Pruett roads.
After Belcher was reported missing, deputies interviewed family members, including her husband, Christopher Belcher.
During the interview, it was learned that Christopher and Gwendolyn Belcher got into an argument Saturday night during which Christopher Belcher slapped his wife in the face, deputies said. Deputies charged him with domestic violence.
