A Pasco County woman was transported to a local burn center after she was rescued from a house fire early Wednesday morning.
The extent of her injuries are still unknown, according to Pasco fire officials, but her two housemates were able to escape unharmed.
Pasco County Fire Rescue responded to a call around 2:25 a.m. to a house fire at 6973 Alken Circle in unincorporated New Port Richey.
Crews found heavy smoke and encountered fire conditions inside the residence. The fire was declared a "second alarm" fire which denotes difficulty in containing.
The fire is now under control, officials said, but the cause is still under investigation.
