LARGO — A 60-year-old man who police said was the driver in a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run on East Bay Drive from three days prior was arrested by Largo Police on Saturday, the department said.
Victor Bonavita was arrested on three charges in relation to the incident, leaving the fatal scene, driving with a suspended license involving a death and tampering with evidence.
On Wednesday, police responded to the fatal accident on East Bay Drive at Wertz Drive where they say Bonavita struck and killed 74-year-old John English while he attempted to cross East Bay Drive.
Police said Bonavita left the scene without stopping to aid the victim.
No other details were immediately available, police said.
