Polk sheriff seeks suspect in morning shooting

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a man suspected of shooting another man in the neck.

About 12:08 a.m. today, deputies responded to Inman Drive in Winter Haven for a report of a wounded man, the sheriff's office said.

Detectives have identified Terrence Drayton, 21, of 1228 33rd St., N.W., Winter Haven, as the shooter, adding he intended to rob the victim, according to the sheriff's office.

Drayton is wanted for attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and armed robbery. 

The victim remains in a hospital undergoing treatment for a gunshot to the neck, the sheriff's office said.
