Polk deputies are searching for the driver of a vehicle that hit and killed a pedestrian on Thursday night in Davenport.
Adrian Rivas, 38, of Davenport was walking home from work on the east shoulder of the northbound lane of Highway 27 sometime during the evening, deputies said.
Rivas was hit by a commercial-type vehicle, possibly a Mack or Oshkosh truck, and dragged a great distance, deputies said. He died at the scene.
Deputies discovered his body about 6 a.m. Thursday.
Investigators are looking for a vehicle which is missing amber flush-mounted lights that are oval. The lights are possibliy from the front or right side of the vehicle.
