Hillsborough County School Board members approved a new contract with teachers Tuesday that will provide a raise for the district's 15,000 teachers.
The board was able to vote on the contract after 98 percent of teachers ratified the measure.
Teachers, administrative support staff and administrators will receive a one-level step increase as well as a 1.5 percent cost-of-living raise.
The new contract also includes bonuses for teachers who are board-certified.
The pay raises go into effect Oct. 19.
