A St. Petersburg woman was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Fifth Avenue North and 22nd Street in St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg police said the pedestrian, Grace Elaine Mosley, 47, 434 Fourth St. North, was crossing Fifth Avenue North early this morning when she was struck in her right side by a Chevrolet Suburban driven by Lezada McKnight.

A news release stated that it appeared Mosley may have stepped into the path of the SUV driven by Knight.

Mosley was transported to the Bayfront Medical Center with what St. Petersburg police called life-threatening injuries.
