We've known for years that Lance Armstrong cheated, doped and used performance-enhancing drugs that gave him a distinct advantage in his seven Tour de France wins. Names such as Canseco, Sosa, Bonds, Clemens, McGwire and a host of others too numerous to mention allegedly used drugs that increased their athletic abilities.
Cheating is almost like a Red Badge of Courage, and after a spell in purgatory, an apology and often all is forgotten. It won't be long, and Lance will be back, writing a tell-all, doing the talk shows and raking in more mega-millions.
Why is it we as a nation accentuate the negative? Goodness knows there are enough folks in the world who do it right and maybe achieve success without being "a dope."
