One injured in fire-pit explosion in Englewood
An explosion caused when fire-pit tenders dumped the wrong chemicals to get a fire started seriously injured one person and blew windows out of nearby houses, Sarasota County sheriff's deputies said. The incident occurred just after 1 a.m. today in the 700 block of Coral Way in Englewood. The explosion occurred "when chemicals were added in order to start a fire in a fire pit," deputies said. The injured person, whose name was not immediately available, was taken to Blake Medical Center and was admitted in serious condition, deputies said.
