A man who was hiding in bushes at a Tampa apartment complex early today was arrested, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Christian Cesar Ramirez, 23, 8325 Elm St., has been charged with loitering and prowling, according to a news release.
About 1 a.m., deputies working surveillance at Marina Point Village Court, 6646 Marina Point Village Court, found Ramirez hiding in bushes behind a building and near an apartment window.
The area behind the apartment building is not a common walk area and does not have a walk path.
Deputies said after they confronted Ramirez, he could not provide a logical reason as to why he was in the bushes.
The apartment where Ramirez was discovered is the same apartment where a burglary had occurred in mid-October, deputies said. In that case, the 65-year-old female victim awoke to find a male suspect standing over her in her bedroom. When the victim screamed, the suspect fled. The suspect had gained entry through a rear window.
There have been seven incidents in the apartment complex where individuals have discovered the rear window to their apartments open and screens removed. It is unknown if entry was made in any of those cases.
