A 19-year-old man was critically injured during a crash on County Line Road in Wesley Chapel early Friday morning, police said.

Tyler Gregory Neuhaus, of Tampa, was flown to Tampa General Hospital with life-threatening injuries just after the 2 a.m. crash, police said.

Neuhaus was alone in his 2007 Honda Civic two-door traveling east on County Line Road at speeds reaching 100 mph, police said.

For an unknown reason, Neuhaus crossed over the center line and lost control while overcorrecting, police said.

The car slid sideways and went off the south side of the road. Neuhaus struck a large wood power pole behind the driver's door, police said.

Traffic was blocked between Hampton Creek and Dunham Station on County Line Road on Friday morning as crews worked to replace the power pole.

Police were investigating what caused the crash.
