Two Lakeland roommates were arrested Wednesday after child pornography was found on their computers, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

David Scheib, 42, who works for the U.S. Postal Service, faces 50 charges of child pornography. He was on felony probation for unauthorized computer access after a plea deal following his 2009 arrest on charges of possession of child pornography.

Michael E. Reynolds, 43, faces 11 charges of possession of child pornography.

Sheriff's detectives searched their house, at 4779 Elon Crescent, after receiving a report that Scheib might be downloading child pornography. Scheib was not home, but detectives made contact with Reynolds, the sheriff's office said.

Reynolds told deputies that Scheib was house-sitting for a friend and had not been home since Friday, according to the sheriff's office. Detectives checked the computers in the house, found child pornography on Reynolds' desktop computer and arrested him.

Later Wednesday, Scheib confirmed he was watching a house in Winter Haven and provided the address, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies searched the house and confiscated Scheib's computer, which contained at least 50 files with child pornography, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office said images on Reynolds' computer were of prepubescent girls, younger than 10. The images on Scheib's computer were of boys and girls from 2 months old to teenagers.

The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate.
