The Hillsborough Avenue bridge over the Hillsborough River is open again in all directions, Tampa police said early Sunday morning.
The bridge had been stuck in the raised position since Saturday afternoon due to a mechanical problem.
Eastbound traffic on that stretch was detoured while workers dealt with the issue, police Lt. Ronald W. McMullen said in a news release.
The bridge, part of U.S. 92, is between North Rome and North Florida avenues.
Officials from the Florida Department of Transportation, which operates the bridge, were called to the scene Saturday. Work continued into the evening to repair the bridge.
