GAINESVILLE -

Drivers on Interstate 75 and other highways in north Florida are being warned to be careful of smoke and fog.

The Gainesville Sun reported that the Florida Highway Patrol is expecting reduced visibility Tuesday morning on I-75, U.S. 41, U.S. 441 and State Road 2. The FHP says drivers should slow down and use headlights if they encounter fog and smoke.

Eleven people died and 22 were hurt Jan. 29 in a series of crashes on I-75 near Gainesville after thick fog and smoke cut visibility to almost zero.
