FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — A large portion of Broward County is under a boil water alert after E-coli bacteria were found in a well.
The Broward County Health District issued the order for Dania Beach, Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Miramar, Pembroke Park, Pembroke Pines and West Park.
County officials say Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is included in the boil water alert.
Officials say residents are safe to shower, but should keep water out of the eyes and mouth. Generally, a boil water order applies to water used for drinking and food preparation.
