Former Opa-locka officer convicted of false imprisonment

Published:

MIAMI – A former Opa-locka police sergeant with a long history of misconduct allegations has been convicted of falsely imprisoning a youth counselor who tried to file a complaint against him.

A Miami-Dade County jury found 50-year-old German Bosque guilty today.

Authorities say Bosque punched Korey Davis in 2011 while responding to a domestic incident between Davis and his baby’s mother. Bosque later handcuffed and detained Davis at the police station when he tried to file a complaint. Davis was eventually allowed to leave without being arrested, but he wasn’t allowed to file the complaint.

The Miami Herald reports that Bosque has been fired six times from Opa-locka but ended up getting his job back five times. Bosque was previously kicked out of the police academy twice and fired from two other police departments.
