A 4-year-old Bradenton boy was hospitalized this morning after he was injured during a drive-by shooting.

Manatee County deputies say the boy was in his bedroom, at 2603 36th Ave. W., around 11 a.m. when someone drove past the house and fired several shots, with one entering his window.

Detectives say this was not a random incident and that the house was targeted for unknown reasons.

The boy remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, deputies say, while his mother, who was home at the time, was not injured.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Manatee County Sheriff's Department at (941) 747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at (866) 734-TIPS.
